About the event

Industry Learning Roundtable

How the firms supported under the Kenya Catalytic Jobs Fund are utilising unique digital solutions and tools to build innovations, grow enterprises, spur growth and create jobs.

Background

Technological innovation is a key driver of economic growth and development today. Digital technologies have the potential to boost more inclusive and sustainable growth by spurring innovation, generating efficiencies and improving services.

The technological possibilities of production are continuously expanding, with technologies complementing and amplifying each other’s possibilities in combinatorial ways.

Today, for instance, new software and advances in data science help to develop new materials. Productivity-raising technologies benefit firms and the economy overall. However, much unexploited potential for productivity growth still exists.

Digital technologies are transformational for production in two major ways; reduction in costs, which allow for wider diffusion; and the combination of different information and communication technologies.
