Key Milestones under KCJF
- By June 2022, Moko plans to create an additional 319 direct jobs at an average salary of £166/month, as well as 377 indirect jobs created within the value chain. These jobs have the potential to increase incomes of furniture workers by nearly 5x as well as up-skilling these workers for further opportunities.
- Moko has streamlined its supply chain and manufactures environmentally sustainable foam cushions and fillings made from recycled material. Moko makes the supplies that it procures and manufactures available to informal furniture makers.
About The Founder
Eric Kouskalis has a history of joining organizations at their early stages and creating successful projects from promising ideas. Before founding Moko, he worked as a Programs Director with top global charity Evidence Action, leading a program that scaled to serve over 1 million people in 3 countries. Although born and raised in the USA, his first full-time job was in Kenya, and he has remained here since, constantly dreaming up new ways to bring comfort to people’s lives. As Moko’s inspirational captain, Eric builds and supports all of the Moko departments, sets the strategic direction of the company, and manages relationships with investors.
Fiorenzo Conte is the other half of Moko’s founding team. Before his Moko days, he worked in public health as a Technical Project Lead with Dimagi, leading the implementation of a new mobile-based drugs distribution system that reduced stock out rate and was scaled nation-wide in Senegal. Fio is integral in creating and operationalizing Moko’s core culture values across all teams. He also leads the team in innovating new furniture products that are sure to put smiles on customer faces and grow the number of “Mokofied” families.
